art that records history




The pictures above represent art works that recorded history. The first picture is of the Berlin Wall. The paintings on the wall recorded history by capturing the feelings of the community at the time. The second picture is of Egyptian art works called hyroglyphics. These art works were used to record history before even a written language existed.

These pictures above are examples of controversial art. The uppermost picture is controversial due to the fact that the first african american president is pictured. The picture directly above is of a mans body covered with art. This piece is controversial due to the fact that some people view body art almost as if it is a cultural taboo.
